An earlier Redcot was demolished in 1967. It was a brick-built building with the front facing South, and a gable end without wndows along Long Street. Redcot was bought in the early 20th century by Frederick Gregory who then had Hillside built on the land to the south of the house. |

This is part of a larger photograph of Long Street looking north taken around 1900. Redcot is the building in the centre of the photograph on the West side of Long Street. It faced South with a blank gable end on the East side along Long Street. It was demolished c1967 due to a notice from the Council advising that the road was to be widened on the West side. In the event, the road was widened on the East side. |
