Up to the middle of the 20th century, there were two dwellings in this area. The building to the south of the existing cottage has been demolished. It formed 8 High Street which was accessed from a door in the far gable end. There was a gate through a fence where there is now a tall hedge.

6 High Street is a small stone cottage of which only one bay of the original structure survives. It was probably built in the mid 18th century but there is no datable detail surviving. A bay at the north end was added, probably at the end of the 18th or early 19th century.
