This building contained two separate dwellings until well into the 20th century.

Where it has been possible to identify specific families with these dwellings, both families are linked to this one building, as the information is now lost as to which family lived in which half of the building.

This is the last remaining of the many cottages that once surrounded Stocking Green. It became isolated when Stocking Green was enclosed, and now stands surrounded by fields.
This photograph shows the cottage as it was some years ago.

The cottage was converted to a more substantial residence around 2000.
