From the 1962 sale catalogue of farms from the Hesketh Estate.  Lord Hesketh had purchased these farms from the Watts family in the 1930s.  Edward Watts is believed to have had New farm built in the middle of the 19th century.  The Watts family had purchase the land from Lord Howe in the 1770s.
